The college library is the major resource for information. Its primary function is to deliver information services and resources to its user community. The library follows Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) and is automated with Rovan LMS software respectively since 2007. Library offers access to INFLIBNET N-LIST programmer, which is a vast repository of online journals and e-books. Due to corona library programs were conducted through online. Book Review assigned to the students and received through google classroom.50 number of books was purchased and 19 journals and magazines were renewed. The following E-Resources provided to the students for their studies through our library blog.

Online Information Resources are vital for academic and research institutes in today’s knowledge economy. The digital world gives everyone an opportunity to find his or her own expert, not necessarily in the classroom. The Internet and other digital information resources provide students and teachers with the means to reach out to the world and extract the information that they find most interesting, whatever it may be. It is a great opportunity for us to serve you with our quality information resources and services.

Inflibnet Resources

The Project entitled “National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)”, being jointly executed by the UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, INFLIBNET .The N-LIST project provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions through server(s) installed at the INFLIBNET Centre. The authorized users from colleges can now access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher’s website once they are duly authenticated as authorized users through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET Centre

ACQUISITION

The following policy is intended to provide a framework for the development of a quality Library collection that meets the information needs of a dynamic community. The policy will ensure that the quality of the collection is maintained through consistency in selection and de-selection processes and a process of continuous evaluation.

The Reference section is to assist the clientele to use the resources of the library in an effective manner leading to their optimum utilization. Reference service is the most intensive kind of personal service which attempts to bring together the user and information in a personal way. Justo Library has “reference books” include materials such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, which common reference books, and are therefore not lent out.

Periodical section is to provide inspiration, recreation and current information to the readers. Due to the vast knowledge explosion, periodical literature has a very important place these days in all fields, whether it is Science, Arts, or Humanities because readers more often get current information from periodical literature rather than books. Here, readers have access to a wide range of magazines, newspapers and topics of relevant interest. For research purposes, several periodicals are being indexed and some important periodicals are getting bounded annually. About more than Ten years back bound volume is available. The Current issue of the magazines is being displayed on the reading table to make their maximum use by a large number of readers; Periodicals do not circulate because they are very costly and single copies only available. We have subscribed the 35 journals both national and international with leading magazines also subscribed in our Justo Library.

DIGITAL LIBRARY

A modern digital library network with high speed internet access is also housed in the premises. Reprographic facilities with CD writer are provided for Students. The prime objective of this Digital Library to act as a subject gateway providing access to the information resources of various libraries and information services both internal and external, all in one place, enabling users to search, browse and download any required data needed quickly and easily. Digital library collections are not limited to, document surrogates: they extend to digital artifacts that cannot be represented or distributed. A digital library is a collection of documents in organized electronic form, available on the Internet or on CD-ROM (compact-disk read-only memory) disks. Depending on the specific library, a user may be able to access magazine articles, EBooks, and E-Journals. Our Justo Library offered mega online databases like N-List, These databases provide listed below of e-books and e-journals for research purpose.

CIRCULATION:

CIRCULATION

This section represents the hub of library activities where lending out of books to readers is facilitated. Of all the library activities, the circulation of books for home use is a major public service provided by the library. Nearly all the members of the library visit this section for getting books on loan for home use at one or the other time. In the circulation Section various functions are undertaken viz. lending of books, reminders for overdue books, reservation of books, renewal of membership etc. most of these functions are done on computers in addition the same being done manually. All the circulation section functions have been computerized to give faster service to our members.

Digital Sources(2018)

Every Year the college library helps the students to enrich themselves with knowledge of content and general.

This year “Special User Education Programmes” was conducted for Justo Library by Mrs. Rethi, College Librarian for all students at Justo Auditorium on 21st July 2017. More than 65 students have participated in this program.

The main theme of the program is, we are giving the information about different kinds of library sections & services and how to use it.

This program will help participants in very practical ways, such as: know library importance in higher education, library timings, penalty details, and collection details, theses & dissertations importance, digital library information.

Four computers have been installed exclusively for the members to search books by title author, keywords and subject through OPAC (On-Line Public Access Catalogue)

Justo Library

The St. Justin’s College of Education Possess an Excellent Library. The Library has computerized its operations and services using Rovan LMS Software.The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) enables the users to search books and other materials by author, tittle, subject, publisher, call number and accession number. To meet the educational objectives of the college, the library:

Makes available to the student’s books and allied reading materials relevant to the courses offered in the colleges;

Makes available the books and documents required by faculty members in preparation of their instructional courses;

provides supplementary books and other reading materials to help to study and teach at the college;

provides a comprehensive selection of authoritative books and documents needed by the faculty members to pursue their research programmes;

The Library houses more than 14000 volumes covering various subjects. The Library Subscribe to 35 printed periodicals including research journals and magazines. The Library has a state of the art digital library with high speed internet connectivity. This would ensure Seamless access to up to minute information, which is crucial in this information age. The digital library provides access to more than 6000 online journals and 31lakh e-book through UGC N-LIST.

Service

Document Delivery:

This service includes the issue and return of books. UG students can take 2, PG Students can take 4 and Staff members can take 10 books at a time. The loan period will be for 14 days. The circulation work of the library is fully automated and has dedicated staff for this work. The activities include issue, return, and reservation and training users for searching in online catalogue of books.

Cyber Lab:

We have a computer lab with 5 computers and internet connectivity in library. The purpose of this lab is for searching E Journals, Internet Browsing Exam registrations etc.

Reading Area:

They are well ventilated with comfortable seating arrangements and proper lighting as to cater to the readers.

Reference Service

Reference books are kept in wooden Almira’s .The reference collection includes Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Rare books, materials for the preparation of competitive examination etc.

Photocopy Facility:

The photocopying center attached to the the library wing, functions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students and staff of the College make use of this facility. An amount of one rupee only charged for a copy from students and staff.

Journal section

The journal section is open to all Bed students,M.Ed students and members of the staff. It consists of current journals of all subjects as well as back volumes

Guidelines

Common Instruction about our Library:
$
Strict silence and decorum should be maintained in the Library.
$
Every B.Ed. and M.Ed. Student will be entitled to borrow two books and four books respectively at a time. The return of the book should be made within a week.
$
During Library hours, open access is permitted to the students.Students should not disturb the arrangement of books on shelves; a student who abuses the privilege of borrowing books will forfeit this privilege.
$
Students are expected to use all the books with care. On receiving a book from the counter the students shall examine it at once and call Librarian's attention to any existing damage. If she fails to do so, she will be responsible for any damage that maybe afterwards detected.
$
No book will be lent to a student except on her own Library card. A student borrowing or attempting to borrow a book dishonestly will be suspended from the Library and possibly even from the college at the discretion of Principal
$
Students are prohibited from passing books from one person to another and from lending them to persons not connected with the college
$
Books should be returned on or before the last date stamped on the return slips in the books. If that date happens to be a holiday, the next working day will be considered the 'due date'. Books taken out for use during short holiday should be returned before classes resume. It shall however be within the description of the librarian to recall any book or books lent to a student, irrespective of the time limit prescribed above.
$
A student's absence from the college on the due date is not a valid reason for failure to return the book on that date.
$
A student failing to return a book within the prescribed time will be fined one Rupee for each working day of the default. Library fines shall be paid to the Librarian. Books will not be issued to those who are in arrears.
$
A book may after being returned be reissued with the special approval of the Librarian.
$
The books issued from the library shall be returned when a student withdraws from the college. No official conduct certificate will be granted to a student who owes either books or fines to the library.
$
If a book is damaged or lost, the cost of replacing it will be paid by the person held responsible.
$
Only current journals will be placed on the reading table.
$
It is compulsory for the M.Ed. student to be in the library from 2.00P.Mto 4.00 P.M.
$
While using the internet facility the computer must be operated with care.
$
Books of reference and journals should be used only in the library.
$
The library rules are to be strictly followed. Students will forfeit the privilege of borrowing books if they infringe in the right of others.
